Kotoko and Hearts games to be aired simultaneously
Africa’s leading pay-tv operator StarTimes is set to offer viewers of the Ghana Premier League unprecedented TV coverage in the penultimate round of 33 match day; Kotoko and Hearts games to be aired at the same time.
Ghanaians will for the first time in the history of Ghana Football witness two live matches aired simultaneously from the Ghana Premier League as the season draws to an exciting end.
Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak who are in a two-horse race for the title will have their games aired at @3:00pm live on Sunday, July 11, 2021.
According to the GFA schedule for Match Day 33, all games but one will be honoured simultaneously at 3pm on Sunday and StarTimes, the official broadcaster will offer fans the opportunity to watch both games live on DTH and OTT.

Hearts of Oak who are a win away from winning the league title hosts relegation-threatened Liberty professionals at the Accra Sports stadium while second-placed Asante Kotoko travels to take on Bechem United, a team in search of survival.
StarTimes will kick-off the match day 33 schedule with a live coverage of the relegation battle game on Saturday, July 10 between King Faisal and Mysterious Dwarfs @3:00pm on StarTimes ADEPA channel and Max TV.
Then on Sunday, July 11, Hearts of Oak vs Liberty Professionals will be aired on StarTimes ADEPA channel on the decoder (DTH) while Bechem United vs Asante Kotoko beams live on a virtual channel available only on the StarTimes ON APP, ADEPA STAR channel (OTT).
Bechem United vs Asante Kotoko will be repeated on StarTimes ADEPA on the decoder right after the Hearts vs Liberty coverage.
ADEPA STAR is a new pop-up channel created to host live Ghana Premier League games to offer viewers more live match experience as the exciting season culminates.

“ADEPA STAR channel was created because we know the importance of having to watch more live matches at the same time. Hearts and Kotoko are the two most glamourous clubs in the country and we need to satisfy both set of fans as their matches happen at the same time.”

Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has voiced concern over the state of football facilities in Ghana, saying inadequate infrastructure is damaging the game’s attractiveness.
The local league’s appeal over the years has dwindled with many calling for immediate action to be taken to salvage the situation.
Speaking to Kumasi based radio station, Ahenfie FM, he expunge on the poor infrastructure in the country which has reduced the appeal of the Ghana Premier League and football in general.
“The poor infrastructure is making our football less attractive.” he ended
His comments highlight ongoing challenges facing the development of football in the country, from grassroots level to the professional game
The 35-year-old, who earned 78 caps and scored 11 goals for the Black Stars between 2008 and 2017, began his career with local sides Berlin FC and Berekum Arsenal before a loan spell at Asante Kotoko.
He later returned to the Ghana Premier League with Accra Great Olympics in 2022–23 after a long career in Europe.

Hearts head coach Nebojša Kapor has lamented the infrastructure problems in Ghanaian football.
Hearts of Oak secured a crucial 1-0 win over Port City FC at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday, ending a three-match winless run in the Ghana Premier League.
Frank Duku’s 20th-minute goal was enough to separate the sides and hand the Phobians three points against the newly promoted outfit.
Despite the win, head coach Nebojša Kapor was left frustrated about the poor state of the Legon pitch.
“This is not our stadium; it’s a national stadium. Ghana football has serious problems with proper pitches,” Kapor said after the match.
The Serbian tactician’s remarks reflect growing frustration among coaches over the quality of playing surfaces across the league.
The Phobias have adopted the University of Ghana as their temporary home venue for the Ghana Premier League.
Hearts of Oak will play Vision FC in the next league game away from home.
