I moved to India because of money – ex Ashantigold’s defender Osei Agyemang

Former AshGold defender Richard Osei Agyemang has disclosed reasons leading to his choosing a move to India.

This comes about as a result of the player exodus that has hit the country with some players opting to play in countries with a relatively low reach.

Speaking to Wontumi FM, he said, no player can boast of 50k in their account from playing in the league for close to 6 years.

“No Ghana premier league player can boast of 50k cedis in his account for playing in the league for 5 to 6 years. I decided to move to India cos of money. The GPL can’t afford that.” he ended.

Agyemang had several stints in the league, playing for Berekum Chelsea in 2015, snapped by Kotoko on a 3-year contract.

He went ahead to sign a 3-year deal for Obuasi-based team AshGold and established himself as a key figure before earning a move to Real Kashmir in India.
