Hearts of Oak release Kofi Kordzi, Ansah Botchway and others

Accra Hearts of Oak have announced Kofi Kordzi and Frederick Ansah Botchway as surplus to requirements hence the immediate termination of their contracts.

The two players have been declared as surplus to requirements ahead of the upcoming  2022/23 football season.

Also, the club has confirmed that Larry Sumaila, Patrick Razak, Manaf Umar, and William Dankyi’s contracts will not be renewed.

“Accra Hearts of Oak has officially notified Kofi Kordzi and Ansah Botchway that they are surplus to requirement. Both parties are in the process to mutually terminate their contracts”.



“Meanwhile, the club has also informed Patrick Razak, William Dankyi, Larry Sumaila Ibrahim and Manaf Umar that their contracts will not be renewed. We wish to thank them for their services during their stay with the club and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”

The 25-year-old midfielder Ansah Botchway joined the rainbow team from liberty professionals. He featured 22 times and scored 2 goals for Hearts of Oak.

Kordzi who plays as a center-forward was suspended for two weeks and demoted to the junior team Auroras for playing in an unauthorize match as he featured in the 2022 Ramadan Cup.

Kordzi scored seven goals in the  Ghana Premier League campaign but was not part of the club’s matchday squad in recent times.

Hearts of Oak will be participating in the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup after defeating Bechem United to win the last season’s FA Cup.

Hearts of Oak will be hoping to improve their squad ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup participation.
