Ghanaian teenagers Don-Angelo Konadu and Avery Appiah sign first professional contracts with Ajax



Ajax, one of the top football clubs in the Netherlands, has granted professional contracts to two Ghanaian teenagers, Don-Angelo Konadu and Avery Appiah.

The retroactive agreements started on April 1, 2023, and will continue through June 30, 2025. Konadu, a 17-year-old forward who was born in Amsterdam in 2006, has been with Ajax’s youth academy since 2014.

Konadu currently plays for Ajax U17 team, although he is recovering from an injury.

Before his injury, he scored eight goals in 13 games for Ajax U17 in Division One Spring and Fall this season.

Meanwhile, Appiah, born in Zoetermeer, Netherlands, on April 2, 2006, is also part of Ajax U17’s squad.

Since the summer of 2020, the midfielder who is currently 17 years old, has been part of Ajax’s youth academy.

Prior to this, he was with Feyenoord’s youth academy but moved to Sparta Rotterdam to start his education.

Appiah has played in 20 games in the U17 Division One Spring and Fall this season and has scored five goals.

He has also featured in two games for Ajax U18 team.
