Failed Asante Kotoko move affected my performance – Welbeck Takyi

Bofoakwa Tano Striker Welbeck Takyi has revealed his performance dropped after his hopes of joining Asante Kotoko disappeared.

Asante Kotoko submitted a bid for the striker after Kwame Opoku left, but Kotoko couldn’t reach an agreement with the Division One side for the transfer for Welbeck.

“I received a call from Asante Kotoko while I was in Accra. I wanted to move only when an agreement was reached with Bofoakwa Tano, but talks broke down”

The striker revealed that the failed moved affected his form and he eventually regretted not being able to move to Asante Kotoko.

” I initially did not regret the failed move but as time went on, I started regretting my decision to stay, and this affected my performances along the line.”

“A few of my friends were advising me to move to Kotoko but I thought if I played well again, they will definitely come back for my services” he added.
