Exclusive: Asante Kotoko block Danlad Ibrahim Black Stars callup

Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko have decided not to let goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim join the Ghana Black Stars for the 4-Nation Tournament in Japan, Sahara Football understands.

Ghana Black Stars are expected to play in the tournament as part of preparations for the 2022 World Cup later this year in Qatar.

Danlad Ibrahim was called up as a replacement for Richard Ofori who suffered a knock in the Black Stars camp in Accra, but Asante Kotoko has decided to keep the goalkeeper as the club currently has only two goalkeepers.

Asante Kotoko currently have Kwame Baah and Danlad Ibrahim as their goalkeepers, letting Danlad Ibrahim go means only Kwame Baah will be available for their last two Ghana Premier League games.

Danlad Ibrahim was supposed to join Black Stars in Japan early this week but has canceled his traveling plans after Kotoko made the decision to keep him.
