Prior to this season’s 2020-21 league opener between Asante Kotoko and Eleven Wonders, the away side managed by Ignatius Osei-Fosu, who had twice suffered losses to the Ghana Premier League record-holders vowed not to lose on a third count.

True to his words, he hatched an impressive game plan, which should have allowed him to beat Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium but for sheer luck, missed chances, and inexperience his side only picked a solitary point that was worth celebrating.

That feat has seen the young dynamic coach get rare reviews from football fans, pundits, and others who see him as a force to reckon with in the next few years if he continues at this rate with the necessary backing at his disposal.

In a recent media interview on Radio with Asempa Fm, Ignat Osei Fosu has opined that it will be a dream come true if he gets to manage the senior national team, Black Stars, and be paid $100,000.

He remarked the following words in the interview, “I am young and I have a lot to offer in our game.”

“My aim is to coach the Black Stars and must be paid $100,000 for the job. Some have come and left the job but when I step up for the job, I will deserve every penny I will be given.

“We all love the Black Stars and winning trophies is our priority and I can do my best when I take up the job.

He also suggested that an opportunity to manage either of the two most glamorous clubs in Ghana Football, Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak clubs would be welcomed.

“If you are a coach and you don’t dream big of coaching Asante Kotoko or Hearts of Oak, then you are going nowhere.

“These are the biggest club in our country and I am not ruling out coaching of them in the near future,” he added.

It was no surprise when he was linked to the top job at AshGold following the exit of expatriate coach Roberto Landi.
