Injury Blow for Spurs and Ghana as Mohammed Kudus Sidelined Until April
Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a significant setback after Mohammed Kudus was ruled out until April following a quad tendon injury sustained in last weekend’s Premier League clash.
The Ghanaian winger was forced off after just 19 minutes of Spurs’ 1–1 draw with Sunderland, having picked up the injury early in the contest. Subsequent medical assessments confirmed damage to the tendon in his quadriceps, ruling him out until after the March international break.
Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank confirmed the extent of the injury, revealing that Kudus’ recovery timeline would see him return only when league action resumes in mid-April.
Kudus, who joined Spurs from West Ham United in a £55 million deal last summer, has scored two Premier League goals for the North London club this season. His absence is expected to test Tottenham’s attacking depth during a crucial phase of the campaign.
The injury also represents a major blow for Ghana, with Kudus set to miss the Black Stars’ international friendly against Germany scheduled for March 30 in Stuttgart. The match had been earmarked as a key part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana have been drawn into Group L, where they will face England, Croatia and Panama, and the absence of Kudus further complicates preparations. The Black Stars will also be without defender Mohammed Salisu, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to an ACL injury.
With two influential players sidelined, Ghana’s technical team is expected to explore alternative options as they continue preparations for the World Cup, which begins in June 2026.

Maxwell Abbey-Quaye powers Baish to victory over Al Qawarah
Maxwell Abbey-Quaye was instrumental as Baish Club claimed a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Al Qawarah in Matchday 2 of the Saudi Second Division League on Friday.
The game was Baish’s first of the season in the Division Two but Al Qawarah’s second in the ongoing campaign.
The visitors made a flying start, racing into a 2-0 lead inside the opening 22 minutes. Ghanaian forward Maxwell Abbey-Quaye teed up Nayef Bakri for the opener in the 5th minute.
He later aided Mohammed Maafa for the second goal of the game to push the scoreline to 2-0.
The second half saw a different Al Qawarah team who played with a lot of attacking purpose. Badr Al-Anzi pulled one back in the 55th minute, and Sheikh Sulaiman leveled the score at 2-2.
Abdullah Shami’s decisive strike in the 80th minute was pivotal for the travelling team to bask all three points in a five-goals thriller.
The result gives Baish an early boost in the campaign, while Al Qawarah will look to bounce back quickly after a competitive showing.
Abbey Quaye recently transferred from Al Qalah to Baish in the Saudi Division Two and is already turning heads with his amazing performances.
