    The Black Satellites lost the plot against defending champions Nigeria in a crunch Group B opener at the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship in Yamoussoukro on Monday, July 27, 2026.
    Ayinla Olayemi scored the first goal for the Nigerians in the 10th minute.
    Five minutes later, Lucky Oraro scored the second goal.

    Mohammed Zaidan reduced the deficit on the half-hour mark, 2-1.
    Black Satellites’ confidence was deflated when the Nigerians were awarded a penalty on the stroke of half-time to take the scoreline to 3-1.
    Abdulmuiz Adeleke planted the ball beyond the goalkeeper, Rafique Issah.

    Kelvin Nkrumah from Medeama SC elected himself to take the side’s penalty on the half-hour mark. He planted the ball beautifully beyond the reach of the goalkeeper for 3-2.
    On the cusp of full time, Nigeria was awarded a penalty. The forward scored to make it 4-2.

    The six-goal thriller ended with Nigeria running home as victors on the night.
    Ghana take on Burkina Faso on July 30.
