    DR Congo fought gallantly to steal a point against  Portugal.
    The Central African side, making its first appearance on the World stage in over five decades, gave a good account of itself against the favorites, Portugal.
    Pedro Neto cleverly lofted a pass into the penalty area, found Joao Neves, who headed one past the goalkeeper for the opener.

    DR Congo had chances of their own to equalize, but poor finishing and inexperience kept them from finding the back of the net.
    Yoane Wissa perfectly headed in a cross from teammate,Arthur Masuaku right on the stroke of half time for the equalizer, setting the record for the first-ever at the World Cup.

    Both teams came from the break with renewed energy and purpose, but the African side held their own against the Europeans, with the game ending 1-1.
    Portugal will play Uzbekistan while DR Congo squares off with South American giants, Colombia.
