Former Black Starlets coach Laryea Kingson has opened up about helping Uganda beat Ghana.
The Black Starlets were in Group D Senegal (winners), Algeria, Ghana, South Africa . The West African won one drew one and lost one earning 4 points.
Meawnhile, Group B had Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Uganda and DR Congo. In the end, Uganda secured 4 pts for World Cup play-off.
This saw the two teams square off in a play-off World qualifcation game after they failed to both qualify as one of two winners in their respective groups.
“I was just doing my job. I will not want anyone to be in my position that I was on that day. I was standing between my job and country as well. It was a very hard moment for me. At the end of the day, that is where my paychecks comes from.” he said
Laryea Kingson will hope to help is his side in Qatar from 19 November to 13 December, 2026 in 48-team tournament
