CAF Women’s Champions League: Ampem Darkoa target third straight win against FAR Rabat in Group B decider
Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies will look to maintain their perfect start to the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League when they take on Moroccan giants AS FAR Rabat in their final Group B fixture on Sunday, November 8, 2026.
The Techiman-based side head into the decisive encounter sitting top of the group with six points from two matches and will be determined to secure another victory to strengthen their position in the competition.
Ampem Darkoa opened their campaign with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Mali’s USFAS Bamako before following it up with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim Ladies.
Against Kawempe, Nancy Amoh gave the Ghanaian side an early advantage with a ninth-minute opener. However, Shadya Nabir restored parity for the Ugandan champions in the 33rd minute.
With the contest heading towards a draw, Beline Nyarko emerged as the match-winner, scoring in the 83rd minute to hand Ampem Darkoa their second consecutive victory and maintain their 100 per cent record.
The victory leaves Ampem Darkoa on six points at the summit of Group B, while AS FAR Rabat and Kawempe Muslim Ladies have three points each. USFAS Bamako remain bottom without a point.
Despite their commanding position, the group remains open, making Sunday’s meeting particularly important for all the teams involved in the qualification race.
A victory against FAR Rabat would give Ampem Darkoa a perfect nine-point finish in the group stage and further underline their ambition to make a strong impression in this year’s competition.
For the Ghanaian representatives, the challenge will be to build on their attacking performances while maintaining the defensive discipline that has helped them secure consecutive wins.
With their final group assignment against a strong FAR Rabat side, Ampem Darkoa have another opportunity to demonstrate their quality and move a step closer to the knockout stage.
The encounter is scheduled for 12:00 noon, with the Ghanaian champions hoping to make it three wins from three.

CAF Women’s Champions League: Ampem Darkoa Ladies thrash USFAS Bamako 5-1 to go top of Group B
Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies made an emphatic start to their 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League campaign with a commanding 5-1 victory over Mali’s USFAS Bamako on Monday, November 2, in Egypt.
The WAFU Zone B champions recovered from an early setback to claim all three points in their Group B opener, with Angelina Yeboah scoring twice to lead the impressive comeback.
USFAS Bamako took the lead in the 11th minute through Oumou Kone, putting Ampem Darkoa under pressure early in the encounter.
However, the Ghanaian side responded strongly, with Yeboah restoring parity in the 28th minute before Patricia Agyei completed the turnaround just three minutes later to give Ampem Darkoa a 2-1 advantage.
The Ghanaian champions maintained their attacking momentum after the break and extended their lead in the closing stages.
Yeboah found the back of the net again in the 79th minute to complete her brace and put Ampem Darkoa firmly in control. Beline Nyarkoh added a fourth in the 83rd minute before Nancy Amoh sealed the emphatic victory with a stoppage-time strike in the 90th+4 minute.
The 5-1 result gives Ampem Darkoa three valuable points and sends them to the top of Group B after their opening fixture.
Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim Ladies also have three points following their 3-2 victory over defending champions AS FAR of Morocco in the group’s other fixture. However, Ampem Darkoa currently lead the standings, with Kawempe in second place.
Ampem Darkoa will next face Kawempe Muslim Ladies on Thursday, November 5, at 5:00 pm in what promises to be an important encounter in the race for a place in the semi-finals.
A second consecutive victory would put the Ghanaian champions in a strong position to progress to the knockout stage as they continue their quest for continental glory.

Edo Queens petition CAF again over Ampem Darkoa’s qualification for 2026 Women’s Champions League
Nigerian side Edo Queens have renewed their challenge against Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ qualification for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League, filing a fresh petition with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) over the controversial WAFU Zone B qualifying final.
The club is asking CAF to declare the October 29 continuation of the final in Cairo, Egypt, null and void, raising concerns over the change of venue, match arrangements and the eligibility of some players.
Ampem Darkoa secured qualification after recording a 3-2 aggregate victory, with Afishata Mohammed scoring the decisive goal in the 92nd minute of extra time.
The latest petition adds another chapter to a dispute that dates back to September 5, when the two sides originally met in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Edo Queens initially celebrated the regional title after winning 4-1 on penalties, following a 2-2 draw at the end of regulation time.
However, CAF’s Organising Committee later ruled that the penalty shootout had no sporting effect and directed that the match resume from the beginning of extra time. The decision was subsequently upheld by the CAF Appeal Board on October 16.
Edo Queens have now questioned the arrangements surrounding the continuation in Cairo, claiming the relocation did not receive the required confirmation from WAFU Zone B. They have also cited concerns over player eligibility, accommodation and communication regarding the match.
In their latest appeal, the Nigerian club is seeking to have Ampem Darkoa’s qualification suspended, the Cairo continuation declared invalid and the match replayed at its original venue. Edo Queens have also requested to be declared winners should a replay prove impossible before the start of the continental competition.
Meanwhile, Ampem Darkoa are preparing for their participation in Group B of the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League, where they are scheduled to face AS FAR of Morocco, Kawempe Muslim Ladies of Uganda and USFAS Bamako of Mali.
With the tournament scheduled to take place in Egypt from November 1 to 15, CAF faces a tight window to address the latest petition, leaving the qualification dispute hanging over the competition.
