Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ Beline Nyarko was named Woman of the Match after an outstanding individual performance in the final of the 2026 WAFU-B Women’s Champions League Qualifiers in Burkina Faso.
Nyarko gave Ampem Darkoa a dream start, opening the scoring less than two minutes into the game. Edo Queens responded almost immediately, equalising in the fourth minute to make it 1-1.
The Ghanaian champions regained the lead in the 73rd minute when Nyarko confidently converted a penalty to put Ampem Darkoa 2-1 ahead.
However, Edo Queens found a late equaliser in the 90+2nd minute, forcing the final into a penalty shootout after a thrilling 2-2 draw.
Edo Queens eventually prevailed 4-1 on penalties to win the WAFU-B title and secure their place in the final phase of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Despite the disappointment, Nyarko’s influential display earned her the Woman of the Match award, highlighting her contribution to Ampem Darkoa’s impressive campaign.
