Ghana’s Black Queens head coach, Kim Lars Björkegren, has outlined the team’s objectives ahead of their 2026 WAFCON opener against Cape Verde.
The team finished third in the last competition held in Morocco and hopes to do one better this time around.
Speaking to reporters in the pre-game interview, coach Kim outlined the team’s objectives.
“We have three targets: qualify from the group stage, win the quarter-finals to qualify for the World Cup, and go all the way to win the 2026 WAFCON,” the Swedish tactician declared ahead of Ghana’s opening fixture.
Björkegren’s side have been impressive in the off-season. They have bagged several wins, with their latest one being a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Malawi in a friendly match, which should boost the team ahead of their opening game.
