Ghana’s Black Queens made a commanding statement in their Group D opener at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, racing to a 2-0 lead over debutants Cape Verde.
Doris Boaduwaa opened the scoring in the 7th minute with a clinical finish, latching onto a perfectly weighted assist from Portia Boakye. The early goal set the tone for a confident Ghanaian performance, as the Black Queens controlled proceedings against a Cape Verde side making their tournament debut.
