Ghana international Tariq Lamptey has joined English Championship side Queens Park Rangers (QPR) on a permanent transfer.
The move marks a return to England after an injury-disrupted spell in Italy with Fiorentina.
Lamptey and Fiorentina mutually agreed to part ways after the Ghanaian had just seen twenty-five minutes of competitive football.
The defender suffered an ACL injury during his time in Italy but is now progressing in his recovery and is expected to return to selection in September.
Lamptey came through Chelsea’s youth system then left for Brighton & Hove Albion in 2020, where he established himself as a key player and made more than 120 appearances for the Seagulls.
His performances on the south coast earned him international recognition with Ghana, and he represented the Black Stars at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
