Moroccan referee El Fariq Hamza appointed to officiate friendly match between Uganda and Ghana.



Moroccan referee El Fariq Hamza has been selected to oversee the friendly match between Uganda and Ghana, slated for Tuesday, March 26.

After their recent 2-1 loss to Nigeria, the Black Stars, led by Otto Addo, are keen to rebound in their upcoming clash against Uganda.

According to a statement released on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) website, El Fariq Hamza, a respected 34-year-old referee known for his expertise, will officiate the FIFA international friendly.

“El Fariq Hamza, a highly regarded referee within the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA, has been appointed to officiate the FIFA international friendly between Uganda and Ghana,” the statement noted.

Hamza, who is prominent in the Moroccan Premier League, or Botola Pro, will be assisted by his compatriots Brinsi Zakaria (Assistant I), Ennouajeli Ihssane (Assistant II), and Elmoutamanni Tarik (Fourth Official).

The match is scheduled to kick off at Grande de Stade Marrakech on Tuesday at 16:00 GMT.

This friendly holds significance for Ghana as it serves as preparation for their upcoming competitive fixtures, including the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
