Hearts of Oak beat Nations away from home at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

Mawuli Wayo’s goal proved the difference between the two teams on Sunday.

A well-worked team move saw a fine display of tentative passes from the visiting team saw the club’s top goal scorer, Wayo, score a beauty from the edge of the box after receiving the lay-down pass from teammate, Hussein Mohammed.

The away team held on to their lead to end the first half.

Nations attacked rigorously after the break but failed to find the back of the net.

Their efforts were rewarded after Emmanuel Annor was taken down in the penalty box of the away team.

Referee Rustum Senorgbe whistled for a penalty.
