Accra Hearts of Oak has issued a statement to debunk the welfare crisis in its camp.
Ahead of their weekend game against Port City, there have been circulating reports in the media suggesting that players’ welfare is poor.
However, in a press statement dated 8 October 2026, the club’s management assured supporters, stakeholders, and the public that there is “NO CRISIS” regarding the welfare of its players. The statement emphasized that Hearts provides the best employment and welfare packages among teams operating under current economic conditions in Ghana.
The club outlined its meal arrangements in detail: for home matches, selected players (who remain in club accommodation) receive dinner the night before the game plus breakfast, lunch, and dinner on matchday. For away fixtures, players and officials are provided with three square meals on both the day before and the matchday itself.
Hearts appealed to Phobians and stakeholders to disregard reports suggesting players are not being fed around match days.
The club will play Port City at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in game week six of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
