Ghana’s Black Queens have made a strong start to their LA 2028 Olympic Games qualifying campaign, defeating Mauritius 3-0 in the first leg of their second-round qualifier in Mauritius.

Abigail Kim opened the scoring in the 16th minute before Alice Kusi doubled Ghana’s advantage eight minutes later.

Benedicte Simon then added a third in first-half stoppage time with a long-range effort to give the Black Queens a commanding lead at the break.

Ghana held on to their three-goal advantage after the restart to secure a comfortable away victory.

The Black Queens will now return home for the second leg on Tuesday, October 13, at the Sekondi Essipong Sports Stadium, with a 3-0 advantage to protect as they continue their quest for a place at the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
