Ghana’s Futsal team coach explains a lot has been learnt from the Futsal AFCON tournament
Ghana’s Futsal national team coach, Philip Boakye, remarked that despite their premature elimination from the Futsal AFCON tournament in Morocco, the team has garnered valuable insights.
Although the team, also known as the Black Stars, faced disappointment in the 2024 Futsal Africa Cup of Nations, failing to secure a victory in any of their three Group A matches and subsequently exiting the tournament, Boakye sees the experience as beneficial.
Acknowledging the challenges encountered, Boakye admitted that the tournament provided invaluable learning opportunities.

He attributed the losses to fatigue, particularly highlighting Angola’s impressive performance in their 11-3 defeat. Boakye conceded that the better team emerged victorious.
Expressing the team’s commitment to improvement, Boakye emphasized their dedication to learning from the experience.
He stated, “I think this is our learning point, and we have studied a lot of things from some countries who came for the tournament. Surely, we are going home to do our homework.”
Despite conceding 24 goals and scoring only eight throughout the tournament, Boakye’s perspective underscores the team’s determination to analyze their performance and prepare for future competitions.
The Black Stars’ early departure serves as a catalyst for reflection and refinement as they regroup and strategize for upcoming futsal challenges.
