Former Ghana Football Association aspirant, George Afriyie has opined that everyone has a major role to perform to ensure that stadiums are filled to capacity on match days in the ongoing betPawa Premier League.

In the last few months, there have been growing debate on the low spectator turnout across various match venues in the country and how best to rally supporters to the venues.

The renowned, football administrator in an interview with Asempa FM asserted that if everyone fulfilled their responsibilities, fans would return to the stadiums.

“If we all come together, and everyone is playing their roles, things will change.

“Clubs will have to play their part, supporters will have to play their part, supporters unions, individuals, corporate bodies, the media, the GFA, everyone must play their role, we all have a huge responsibility to play in this.

“As for the interest, it is there. Anyone who says interest in our football has diminished is telling lies but there are things that are going on that is not helping matters; that is why people will not come to the stadium with their kids and wives.”

The betPawa Premier League is in its second phase of games with Aduana Stars sitting at the summit of the table with Bechem United, Kotoko and Hearts gunning for the title as well.
