For the CAF African Schools Football Championship, VISA is dedicated to empowering the upcoming generation of talent.

As the exclusive payment partner for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, VISA will introduce its cutting-edge payment technology to enhance the experience for fans and attendees.

This endeavor will connect African football enthusiasts with distinctive and unforgettable experiences throughout the tournament.

VISA is also poised to launch its Player Escort Program, affording children aged 8 to 12 a once-in-a-lifetime chance to walk onto the pitch with their cherished players before matches.

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe expressed his excitement about this collaboration, underlining its potential to enhance the popularity and allure of CAF competitions among football aficionados and spectators in Africa and globally.

He highlighted the extensive viewership of previous tournaments, such as the TotalEnergies AFCON Cameroon 2021, which reached over 600 million people across approximately 180 countries.

Moreover, this partnership underscores VISA’s commitment to investing in and nurturing football at the grassroots level, including schools football for both boys and girls, as well as women’s football in Africa.

Throughout AFCON Côte d’Ivoire 2023, 24 African National Teams will vie in 52 matches across six stadiums, with VISA’s digital payment technology accessible for purchasing tickets both online and in-person at all venues.
