    2024 WAFCON qualifier: Black Queens thrash Rwanda in Kigali

    Ghana’s Black Queens put up a dominant display away from home in their 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after they put seven goals past Rwanda on Wednesday afternoon in Kigali.



    The Black Queens got their noses in front in the first two minutes, as Doris Boaduwaa nodded in the game’s opener from the corner.

    The Black Queens got their second and third goal respectively, Norwegian club based, Evelyn Badu on the 13-minute mark not later than fifteen minutes, Priscila Adubea added the third to seal the first half at, 3-0.

    Upon resumption of the second half, Doris Boaduwaa turned provider for Alice Kusi to tap in the fourth from close range.  

    Evelyn Badu was back on the scoresheet again on the 65th-minute mark which saw the away side cruising to five nil much to the delight of Swiss head coach, Nora Hauptle.

    Anasthesia Achiaa scored two free kicks with fifteen minutes to end proceedings wrapping the game at nil to the Black Queens. 

    The Black Queens will hope to make the most of the second leg tie to be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, to seal qualification to the next stage.
