Ghana’s Black Princesses failed to get the better of host South Africa’s Basetsana in the first leg of their FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The home team drew first blood through Agnes Yeboah, who was on hand to meet a perfectly executed corner from the right-hand side of the attack on the 33rd minute.
Three minutes after recess, the South Africa side responded by drawing parity.
Four minutes later, Linda Owusu Ansah is on hand to restore the lead for the home team.
The rainbow country fought gallantly to draw parity again, 2-2 on the 60th minute mark.
In the end, the game ended in a draw, with the away side feeling they have the edge in the next encounter two weeks away from home.
