The Black Princesses’ run at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup has come to an end despite their victory over New Zealand in the final group game.

The West African country’s hopes of sealing qualification were shattered by the South American side, Argentina who defeated Costa Rica by a solitary goal.

The side lost their opening two games in the competition to Austria and Japan and needed to win their final berth to save face following their subpar performance in the tournament.

Salamatu Abdulai scored a brace, Tracy Twum with the third goal with Manaia Elliot’s goal sandwiched in between the goals for the New Zealanders.
