Mustapha Ussif, the Minister of Youth and Sports has suggested that the government won’t be able to airlift supporters to Qatar to go and support the senior national team, Black Stars at the World Cup in Qatar.

In past editions of World Cups that the country has participated in, the government at the time funds the travels of supporters to these significant tournaments. Still, as things stand now, the sports minister has remarked that the current financial standings of the government will make it impossible to sponsor fans to the World Cup.

“As an alternative measure, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in collaboration with the Ghanaian Mission in Qatar, will mobilize Ghanaians and other Africans based in Qatar to support the Black Stars.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s Coach Addo has been carefully consulting with his technical team members (Chris Houghton, George Boateng, Didi Dramani) and other influential figures on the final list for the tournament on Monday,14, November 2022.
