We will win trophies soon – Nuru Sulley

Accra Hearts of Oak towering defender Nuru Sulley has expressed high hopes of winning major laurels with the club, once football activity resumes in the country, Ghana.

The 28-year center back cum defensive midfield old recently rejoined the rainbow club on a two-year deal after ending his association with Iraqi outfit, Naft Al-Junoob SC.

Hearts of Oak prior to the suspension of the league, were midtable, struggling to notch results in their favor, and with their defensive lapses visible for all to see, necessitated the capture of the stalwart defender.

However, in a recent interview with the club’s official media portal, Hearts Media, he expressed optimism in helping the club achieve it’s set objectives under the able leadership of Edward Nii Odoom.

“During my first spell at Hearts, the club failed to win a major trophy and, this is not something that was happy about.

I am here to leave a mark and, I will work tirelessly with the rest of my teammates to ensure that we win on the pitch and win trophies when football returns,

Hearts of Oak means so much to me and, I want to repay the trust the board and management has shown to me by bringing me back to the club,

We will get back to the game and win trophies again.” he concluded.

The Ghana Premier League was recently abrogated after GFA’S ExCo held series of protracted meetings in view of the deadly coronavirus outbreak which plagued the country.

It’s been over a decade since Accra Hearts of Oak landed a major trophy, until the cancellation of the league, many pundits touted this season to be the year of the Phobians but the outbreak of the coronavirus means the club together with their teeming fan base would have to wait a season longer to lay hold of the Ghana Premier League.

As at July 14, Ghana has recorded a total of 24,988, 21,067 recoveries,139 deaths.
