Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan is confident in the team’s passage to the knockout stage at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana has been housed in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama in Group L following the draw at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, USA.
Speaking to American actor Danny Ramirez, Gyan acknowledged that it was a tricky group but still not beyond qualification for the Black Stars.
“Well, I think it is a tricky group. All four teams want to qualify, and definitely, we are optimistic back home. Everybody back home wants Ghana to qualify. We will do our best to qualify for the next stage,” Asamoah Gyan said.
Gyan played in three separate World Cups: 2006, 2010, and 2014 and the first African to score six goals at the World Cup.
Ghana’s first game will be against Panama on Wednesday, June 17, in Dallas, USA.
Six days later they will take on England in a mouthwatering clash at the BMO Field Stadium in Toronto, Canada.
Their final game against Croatia will be on 27th June at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
