    Ghana and Mali will go head-to-head for their third game for the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 19:00 GMT, at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako.



    The game holds a lot of prominence for both sets of teams in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifications.

    As things stand, the host is second on the log with four points, winning one and drawing the other while the Black Stars who are stationed fifth on the log will have it all to do after recording a single winning from two games.

    Mali is yet to qualify for the World Cup in its football history, after losing two nil to Ghana in 2009 in the lead-up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup which was staged in South Africa.

    Coach Otto Addo will hope to rely on the experience of, Thomas Partey, and Alex Djiku, and the youthful brilliance and exuberance of, Mohammed Kudus, Ernest Nuamah, Fatwu Issahaku, Kamaldeen Sulemana, to wreck damage in Bamako against Mali.

    As for Mali, their captain Hamari Traore will be absent due to suspension for his red card in the AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire while Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma is absent.

    The game is said to be played at the Stade du Mars Stadium on June 6, 2024, at 19:00 GMT.
