    The senior national team, BlackStars, cushioned their position at the top of the table with a thumping win over Madagascar at the Al Hociema Sports Stadium in Morocco.

     

    In what was hotly tipped to be a close contest between the two teams, it was the four times African champions who made light work of their opposition.

    Coach Otto Addo made two changes to the side that beat Chad three days ago in Accra.

    ErnestNuamah and Inaki Williams were dropped for Francis Abu and Jerome Opoku with Hearts of Oak’s Benjamin Asare maintaining his place in between the sticks for the BlackStars,

    The away side raced to an early lead through Arsenal player, Thomas Partey who tapped in a smart header from a teasing Jordan Ayew cross for the breakthrough.

    The first half ended 1-0 in favor of the Black Stars.

    The second half resumed with a lot of attacking intent from the host who trailed the BlackStars but the defensive resoluteness of the team was on hand to repel their attacks.

    Thomas Partey was at the right place to head in the second for the team from a Jordan Ayew corner kick in the 53rd minute.

    In what looked like the game would end with a two-goal margin, Jordan Ayew proved his industry as he glided his way past several Malagasy players to tee up Mohammed Kudus for the third goal of the game –  a remarkable third assist for him on the night.
