    Ghana’s sole representative in this year’s Champions League, Medeama SC secured a draw at home to Tanzanian outfit, Young Africans on Friday, 8 December 2023 at Baba Yara Stadium.


    Jonathan Sowah slotted home the first goal of the game through a penalty in the 27 minutes.

    Not later than, nine minutes, the Tanzanians were back on level terms through Paçome Zouzoua.

    The first half ended with a goal apiece for each side, 1-1.

    WATCH HIGHLIGHTS :

    The second half saw, coach Evans Adotey ring some changes in search of the much-needed second goal, Manuel Mantey, and Daniel Lomotey were subbed off for Godknows Dzakpasu, Joshua Agyemang. 

    Former Bechem United forward, Hafiz Konkoni came close to increasing the tally for Yanga but his effort was parried off by Felix Kyei in post for the Mauve and Yellow side.

    The result sees Ghanaian champions a point behind, Al Ahly who drew goalless against Algerian outfit, CR Belouizdad of Algeria. 

    The second phase of the second round is scheduled to take off in February 2024.
