Hearts of Oak bagged their 12th MTN FA Cup trophy as they emerged victorious over  Bechem United in the final on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The duo, all former winners of the competition, successfully went through 9 games between themselves to get to the finals to contest each other for the trophy.

Emmanuel Avornyo put Bechem United in the lead in the 43rd minute only to be pegged back by a beautiful overhead kick from  Caleb Amankwah connecting an inch-perfect Samuel Inkoom cross.

In the 60th minute, birthday boy, Afriyie Barnieh got on to an Awako superb cross to calmly slot it past a helpless Iddrisu in post for Bechem United.

The victory sees them bask in total prize money of GHS80,000 + GHS100,000 from MTN Ghana for Africa.

The Phobians will test their resolve against bitter rivals, Kotoko, who came out tops in the just Ghana Premier League 2021/22 for the final of the Champions of Champions Cup.

Hearts of Oak will have the singular honor of representing Ghana in Africa for the CAF Confederations Cup 2022/23.
