Hearts of Oak made the most of their home advantage as they picked their second consecutive win a dramatic fashion against Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The home having smashed Accra Lions by 3 goals, a fortnight ago and were looking to continue off from where they left off, as such an early incursion from them saw, Augustine Koomson making a mess of Gladson Awako’s low shot which allowed the club’s top goalscorer, Afriyie Barnieh to tap in from close range to give the home side an early lead in 3 minutes.

The early pressure from Hearts unsettled the away side who found themselves down by two goals in 12 minutes courtesy of a belter from Seidu Suraj.

The “Still Believe” side were offered a lifeline in the dying embers of the first half as Caleb Amanakwah was deemed to have fouled Agynenim Boateng, who calmly slotted the resulting penalty to leave the score at 2-1 for the halftime.

After the recess, the home side attacked with a margin of purpose and intent as a marauding run from Benjamin Yorke’s cross picked out the head off Abdul Jalilu who headed past his own goalkeeper, Augustine Koomson to restore the home side’s two-goal advantage.

Both sides pushed each other from time to time but little chances were created at the end of the day, aiding the home side to pick all the 3 maximum points pushing them up to 3rd on the log with 43 points whiles Dreams FC, 13th on the log with 32 points from 27 games.
