Dreams FC’s quest for a place in the finals of the CAF Confederations Cup was dashed by superior opposition, Zamalek at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Before the second leg of the semi-finals, the two sides went toe to toe with the game ending in a goalless stalemate with a to play for in the return fixture in Kumasi.

    WATCH HIGHLIGHTS :

The home side started the early exchanges on a front foot with the idea of unsettling the visitors but it was the visitors that raced into an early as Hamza Mathlouthi bundled home from the resulting corner in the 12th minute.

Benin-born Nigeria, Samson Akinyoola’s shot from 20 yards was enough to rattle the post off Solomon Agbasi, who could do little to wade off that attack.

Mostafa Shalaby added his side’s third on the day after a breathtaking pass from Seifeddin Jaziri, which cut open the defense of, Dreams FC.

The Ghanaian side will feel hard done by their missed opportunities but it’s an experience that will leave bright spots in their memories in the CAF Confederation Cup quest for the 2023/24 season.
