Dreams FC held their nerve as they played out a goalless draw game against Zamalek in the CAF Confederation Cup first-leg tie of the semifinals at the Cairo International Sports Stadium.

The Ghanaian-based club coming into the game as underdogs was hopeful of securing favorable results playing away from home in the first-leg tie against one of the continent’s powerhouse clubs, Zamalek.

Coach Zito named a fairly youthful side of Abdul Aziz, Abdul Jalilu, Emmanuel Agyei, Derrick Agyei, Godfred Atuahene, and a blend of experience with John Antwi and Agyenim Boateng Mensah leading the attack.

The host created twenty-five goal attempts in the game but it was the ever-impressive Solomon Agbasi’s six saves which was pivotal in preventing his side from conceding a goal in the entire duration.

The visitors also had chances of their own through the diminutive enterprising, Abdul Aziz Issah, John Antwi, and Sylvester Simba but failed to hit the back of the net.

There were changes in the second half which saw, fresh players such as Sylvester Simba, Yaovi Chris Guede introduced for Derrick Agyei, and Boateng Mensah in the dying embers of the second half to complement the side.

The game ended in a goalless draw game, with the Ghanaian side feeling prouder and happier with a magnificent performance against their host in a dominating Cairo International Stadium.
