    Black Starlets recorded a thumping victory over the West African footballing neighbors, Cote D’Ivoire in the opening encounter at the University of Ghana, Stadium.

    The two teams paired in the same group were looking to get one over each other but the host superiority proved too strong for their nemesis from the neighboring country. 

    After a cagy opening half, Joseph Narbi poked the host into the lead after getting on to end off a wonderful pass from teammate, Mark Kagawa.

    WATCH HIGHLIGHTS :

    Three minutes to the end of the first half, Joseph Narbi bagged a brace and Ghana’s second of the game to end that half with a two-goal lead. 

    The second half saw, forward Godfred Sarpong, Harve Gbafa, and Mark Kagawa finding themselves on the scoresheet with a consolation from the away side.

    Ghana will play Benin in the next encounter of the ongoing tournament at the same venue on Tuesday, May,21,2024.
