WAFA’s Lawrence Agyekum dedicates first goal to mother

WAFA midfield gem Lawrence Agyekum couldn’t contain his excitement after netting his first goal of the season in the 3-1 demolishing of current table toppers Karela United at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena in a tightly contested mid-week action.

In an interview with Saharafootball.net after the entire throttle of the game at their favorite Sogakope base, he dedicated the goal to his mother, who had endlessly been a tower and an integral part of his development.

“I am happy for the opportunity coach Prosper Narteh and the technical team has reposed in me right from day one,

“It’s a great feeling to score your first goal against a high-flying side like Karela United, as such; I dedicate this goal to my mother who has always been a big figure in my life.”

The talented midfielder, who has become a mainstay in the first team since returning from injury some months ago has featured prominently (9) games since making the comeback.

Finally, Agyekum is confident that this goal will be the start of many other goals he will score in the ongoing Ghana Premier League 2020-21 season.

WAFA are billed to play a resurgent Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium in the ultimate pile of games for the first half of Ghana Premier League 2020-21 season.
