After six frantic years in the Ghana Premier League, WAFA have been relegated from the top-flight after a disappointing season.

The Sogakope-based side were coming into this fixture of the league on the count of beating Berekum Chelsea and needed to win at a difficult CAM park.

In the end, a former product of the club, Umar Bashiru’s second-half goal dampened the hopes of the academy boys.

It’s said that the massive player exodus exits, Lawrence Agyekum, Forson Amankwah, Augustine Boakye, Daniel Lomotey, Daniel Owusu, and the non-replacement of these guys are said to have in a way affected the side and their quest for a Premier League survival.

WAFA, Eleven Wonders, and Elmina Sharks will start next season from the second tier of the Ghana Premier League.
