This year’s 2024 WAFU Zone B U-17 tournament is set to take place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium from May 15 to May 29, 2024.

The youth tournament will have Ghana as the host nation alongside, Burkina Faso, Cote D’Ivoire Togo, Benin, Nigeria, and Niger as other participating countries when the tournament kicks off two weeks away from today.

The tournament is aimed at selecting countries from the West African sub-region to partake in the upcoming 2024 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be played later this year.

The Black Starlets are housed in Group A and will shrug it off against, Cote D’Ivoire and Benin, while Group B will see Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Togo.

Coach Laryea Kinson hopes his side will translate their performance from the just-ended UEFA U16 tournament, where they lost to Russia in the opening game but bounced back to beat Kazakhstan and Serbia by 10 goals in both games conceding two as a result.
