Ghana’s Black Starlets lost their opening game to Russia in a four nations tournament, in Volgograd, Russia.

The Ghanaian side lost to the host nation, Russia by 3-1 a feat they will need to remedy in their next encounter in the ongoing tournament.

Russia opened the scoring through, Shilov Vadim in the 4th minute.

    WATCH HIGHLIGHTS :

The host scored their second and third goal between a three-minute interval in the 31st and 34th minute, through, Daniil Kiselev, and Zakhar Chushkin before the first half which unsettled the traveling side from West Africa.

Ernest Ofori got himself on the score sheet with 25 minutes to end proceedings but that goal failed to spark a revival for his side, who ended up on the losing side at the end of proceedings.

The team will hope to get an improved result when they play, Kazakhstan and Serbia in the next two games of the tournament.

Coach Laryea Kingston will use this tournament to thoroughly assess his setup as they gear towards the upcoming WAFU Zone B U17 tournament in Accra next month.
