    The Black Meteors rounded off their preparations ahead of their U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) slated for Morocco this weekend with a thumping win over Zamalek. 



    The team has been in camp for some time preparing ahead for the U-23 tournament and had played out a 1-1 draw with Egypt’s U-23 side in a friendly game. 

    In the absence of Ransford Yeboah and Kamaldeen Sulemana, Coach Ibrahim Tanko named a strong starting berth that featured the likes of Emmanuel Appau, Salim Adams, Sylvester Simba, Emmanuel Yeboah, Hafiz Ibrahim.

    CFR Cluj forward Emmanuel Yeboah made a strong impact in the opening 10 minutes with the first goal of the game, six minutes later, the host pegged them back with an equalizer, 1-1.

    Yeboah added his side’s second and third respectively in the 25th and 41st minute of the game to bag himself a hat trick as the first half ended 3-1. 

    Godwin Bentil rounded the scoring in the second half of the game to give the Meteors a three-goal cushion.

    The Meteors held on resolutely to finish for their host in a five-goal thriller to successfully rounded up their camping ahead of their game against Congo on Sunday, June 25.
