    Sports Ministry settles outstanding arrears to BlackStars coaches and staffs

    The Government of Ghana, through the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, has cleared all outstanding salary arrears of several coaches of the Black Stars dating back to 2020.



    After close scrutiny and extensive auditing by state agencies led by the Sports Minister, they finally came to a conclusion on the way forward.

    The compensation package includes payments to former head coaches such as Chris Hughton and C.K. Akonnor, George Boateng, Didi Dramani, David Duncan, and Maxwell Konadu.

    Breakdown of how the arrears were paid.

    CK Akonnor – $120,000

    David Duncan was paid $40,000.

    Chris Hughton $68,904

    George Boateng $20,833

    Mas-Ud Didi Dramani $12,500

    They have also now been paid up to March 2025 (6 months), with Addo, now in his second stint as Ghana coach, receiving more than $420,000 for that period.

    Joseph Laumann $75,000

    John Painstil $64,864

    Fatau Dauda $19,459

    Francis Bugri Tampuli $33,000
