    Southampton sign Ghana’s Mohammed Salisu

English Premier League club Southampton have all but wrapped a deal to bring Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu to the club in the summer transfer window after triggering his £10.9 million release clause.

The 21-year old has agreed a four-year deal after passing his medicals this week.

Salisu caught the eye of many admirers this season with his breathtaking performances for his Spanish outfit. He featured 31 times scoring a goal to add up.

It’s no doubt that he drew interest from Manchester United, Westham, Everton, Valencia but the lure of playing regular football to continue his development appealed to him more hence the choice, Southampton.

Mohammed Salisu joined the youth ranks of Real Valladolid in 2017, before making his mark in the senior set up a year ago.

This deal represents an ideal chance for other young and exciting Ghanaian lads to give off their best with the idea of being scouted and signed by a top club soon.

Mohammed Kudus recently joined Dutch giants Ajax from  Nordsjælland, Thomas Partey as well flirting with the notion of moving to Arsenal or stay with Atletico Madrid.
