Seydou Zerbo claims that becoming the new head coach of Asante Kotoko makes him feel pleased and appreciated.

The Ghana Premier League champions have officially hired the Burkinabe coach gaffer on a one-year contract with the option of extension.

Prosper Narteh Ogum, who departed the club after only one season as manager, was replaced by Zerbo.

Zerbo stated that he is thrilled and delighted to lead the club for the first round of play against Kadiogo.

“It’s a pleasure for me to be here because ever since I was young, I heard the name of Asante Kotoko and I must say I am very proud to be here, but the thanks go to the management and the supporters for having me here,” he told the press on Friday.

An injury time Isaac Oppong goal gave the Porcupine Warriors an edge over their Burkinabe side in the first leg of the match.

If Kotoko sail through, they will meet either, Gaborone United Sporting Club and AS Vita Club of the DR Congo in a two-legged tie.
