    A host  of Ghanaian players across were in action for their various club’s over the weekend.  

    In this piece, I take a look at some of these players who made the most of their game time for their clubs in England, Spain, France, Holland, Belgium and beyond.



    AUSTRIA

    Ibrahim Mustapha played 63 minutes in LASK win over Rapid Vienna in the Austria Bundesliga.

    Forson Amankwah played 90 minutes for Salzburg as they beat Fuseini Mohammed’s Sturm Graz in the Austria Bundesliga.

    Paul Mensah came off the bench for BW Linz as they beat Dornbirn in the Austria Liga 2.

    BELGIUM

    Kamal Sowah and Denis Odoi’s Club Brugge made light work off Isaac Nuhu’s Eupen

    Majeed Ashimeru’s Anderlecht fell at home to KV Mechelen

    Joseph Painstil’s Genk drew 2-2 with Charleroi.

    Oostende’s David Atanga won away to Gent.

    DENMARK

    Ernest Nuamah’s Nordsjaelland lost away to Viborg.

     

    ENGLAND

    Ghana captain, Andrew Ayew’s Nottingham Forest tasted defeat away to Liverpool.

    Thomas Partey’s Arsenal fought back to a 3-3 draw at the Emirates against a struggling Kamaldeen Sulemana’s Southampton.

    Jordan Ayew played the full match in a goalless draw game against Everton.

    Daniel Amartey watched from the bench as Leicester beat Wolves at home.

    Albert Adomah’s QPR lost to Burnley away from home.

    Andy Yiadom captained Reading to an away loss to Coventry. Kevin Abrefa was an unused substitute in the game.

    Joojo Wollacott was on the bench for Charlton as they lost to Morecambe in the League One.

    FRANCE

    Alexander Djiku put in a gallant performance for Strasbourg away win over Reims.

    Abdul Salis Samed served his suspension as RC Lens beat Monaco by 3-0 in the Ligue 1.

    Gideon Mensah was back for Auxerre as they drew 1-1 with Lille. Elisha Owusu continued to nurse injuries on the sidelines.

    GERMANY

    Kevin Prince Boateng was on the losing end with Hertha as they crushed at home to Bremen in a six-goals thriller in the German Bundesliga.

    Chris Antwi-Adjei was subbed off in the 64th minute as Bochum were walloped at home by Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.

    Kingsley Schindler came off the bench for the final ten minutes to help Koln to bask an away win at the expense of Hoffenheim.

    Braydon Marvin Manu and Patrick Pfeiffer were both in action as Darmstadt as they beat Stephen Ambrosius’ Karlsruher in the German Bundesliga 2.

    Ransford -Yeboah Konigsdorffer starred for Hamburger SV in their seven-goals thriller against St. Pauli.

    Kwasi Okyere Wriedt came off the bench in the final 30 minutes in Holstein Kiel away lose to Heidenheim in the German Bundesliga 2.

    Chris Antwi-Adjei was subbed off in the 64th minute as Bochum were walloped at home by Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.

    HUNGARY

    Kwabena Owusu came off the bench to help Ferencvaros bag a win away from home to Vasas.

    ISRAEL

    Zakaria Mugeese, Kamaheni Montari and Ebenezer Mamatah played diverse roles in Ashdod’s loss to Maccabi Haifa.

    PORTUGAL

    Emmanuel Boateng’s Rio Ave scored a goal for Rio Ave but it didn’t stop them from losing 3-2 to Boavista in the Liga Portugal.

    Ibrahim Abass scored for the second week running for Chaves in their 1-1 draw to Santa Clara.

     

    SERBIA

    Osman Bukari hit a hat trick in 24 minutes to help Crvena Zvezda to a 4-1 win over TSC.

    Ibrahim Tanko played in Javor’s goalless draw game to Radnik.

    Samuel Owusu was on the bench as Cukaricki beat Partizan by 1-0.

     

    SPAIN

    Inaki Williams was subbed off at half time in Athletic’s win over Almeria in the La Liga.

    Abdul Mumin saw defeat with Vallecano away to Sociedad.

    Baba Iddrisu played in Mallorca’s 3-1 win over Getafe.

     

    SWEDEN

    Phil Ofosu-Ayeh and Mohammed Naeem saw defeat with Halmstad against Kalmar. Thomas Boakye observed from the bench in the Allsvenskan.

    SWITZERLAND

    Kasim Nuhu and Emmanuel Essiam were unused substitute as Basel lost art home to Luzern in the Super League.

    Ati Zigi was in post for St. Gallen as they lost to Daniel Afriyie Barnieh’s FC Zurich.

    TURKEY

    Ghanaian trio, Bernard Mensah, Jacob Attamah and Yaw Ackah were on the losing end with Kayserispor against Adana.
