Accra Hearts of Oak have confirmed the contract extension of goalkeeper Richmond Ayi with the club for the next 3 years.

The club announced the contract extension deal which is valid until 2025 on Saturday, December 17, 2022, via its official Twitter handle.

A statement from the club reads, “Goalkeeper Richmond Ayi has signed a new 3-year contract with Accra Hearts of Oak. This will keep him at the club till 2025. Congratulations Ayi!”

The club is looking to tie it’s high-performing players to new deals to save them risk of losing them out to other clubs on free transfer or little transfer fees with the Daniel Afriyie Barnieh contact impasse lingering over their heads.

Since transferring from Sogakope based WAFA in 2018, he has managed to man the post in over 30 appearances within a four-year span at the capital-based club rivaling the likes of Richmond Attah, Eric Ofori Antwi and Ben Mensah for the number one role.
