Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori is eyeing a possible comeback to the Black Stars amid qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 31-year-old was a huge figure for the Black Stars, but a costly mistake against Mozambique ended the team’s hopes of making it past the group stage in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Since then, Ofori has been frozen out of national team assignments.
Speaking to iDiski Times, he said: “I’m working hard with my team to help my team in the league, and then the rest will take over. Recently, no, I haven’t spoken to coach Otto Addo, but before, he used to call me. He’s a good man who checks up on his players.”
“I’m focused on my club right now. That’s what you need to do if you want to be there [at the World Cup],” he said.
Ofori has a decade of standing runs with the Black Stars with 33 caps to his name.
