Asante Kotoko captain, Richard Boadu says the immediate target of the club is to ensure that they advance to the CAF Champions League group stage.

An injury-time goal from Isaac Oppong was enough to ensure, the Porcupine Warriors were victors over their Burkinabe counterparts on Monday in Benin.

“We all read about the history; however, this is our time also to make history and for us as players, our immediate target is to reach the group stage. The Coach has been fantastic and he relates very well with us,” he told reporters during the pressers

The former Medeama midfielder is optimistic about the side’s chances when they play host to RC Kadiogo in the second leg of the CAF Champions League.

If Kotoko are able to win this match on Sunday, they will play host to Gaborone or AS Vita in the next leg of the competition.
