PSG Director confirms Real Madrid £137m bid for Kylian Mbappe

The Director of Paris Saint Germain has confirmed that his club received a formal bid from Real Madrid for Kylian Mbappe, a bid he calls a “strategy” to force the player to leave for free next year.

PSG director Leonardo stated that the fee was too low for the player; lower than what Paris Saint Germain paid to Monaco in 2017 to sign Kylian Mbappe.

“It seems like a strategy to try to get a NO from us, to show that they have tried everything and to wait for a year to get Mbappé for free. Kylian always promised he wouldn’t leave for free”

“Real Madrid official offer is very far from what we want for Kylian. Yes, it’s around €160m. It’s less than what we paid for him in 2017”

“We have no plans to talk to Real again for Mbappé. The deadline is August 31 at midnight. This is how the transfer window is: we keep him and we extend. But we’re not going to let him go for less than what we paid when we still owe Monaco money”

“We never opened the door to a departure of Kylian Mbappé. Never. People say that I want to sell and not Nasser, but me or Nasser thinks the same thing. We are on the same point. But if a player wants to LEAVE, it’s on our terms”.

Kylian Mbappe’s PSG contract will expire next year and he will be able to leave the club for free if they fail to extend his contract.
